1. (a) Except when the dealer has blackjack, a player may elect to double down on the first card dealt to the player, or on the initial or previous wagers, regardless of the total point count.
2. (b) Upon a player’s election to double down, the player places an additional wager which may not exceed the player’s current wager amount, and the dealer shall deal an additional card face up and place it sideways on the layout.
3. (c) A player has the option to elect to double down on the previous card until the player decides to stand, achieves a point count of 21 or goes over a point count of 21 and loses.
4. (d) If a player’s first card is an ace, the player may only double down once, in accordance with § 692.7(l)(2) (relating to procedure for dealing the cards; completion of each round of play).
5. (e) The dealer shall then complete the procedures in § 692.7(h)—(u).
