For purposes of eligibility a racing season or racing year shall be the calendar year. Conditions shall not be written in such a way that any horse is deprived of an opportunity to race in a normal preference cycle. Where the word ‘‘preferred’’ is used in a condition it shall not supersede date preference.

1. (1) Conditions shall be limited to the money earnings of the horses in a specified period of time or number of starts.
2. (2) Primary conditions shall be nonwinners or winners of more than a stated amount of money.
3. (3) Not more than two also eligible conditions shall be used in writing the condition of any overnight event.
4. (4) Age and sex allowances shall apply to the primary condition and shall not be considered an also eligible condition.
