Decisions which determine the duration of stay shall take into account:

1. (1) The resident’s needs, therapeutic requirements and recommendations of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
2. (2) The commitment status of the resident.

3. (3) Measurable indicators established by the provider that address expectations in the following areas in determining resident duration of stay.

   1. (i) Resident and program outcomes.
   2. (ii) Stability of the resident’s psychiatric condition.
   3. (iii) Stability of the resident’s medication regime.
   4. (iv) The length of time without the need for acute psychiatric interventions.
   5. (v) The attainment of treatment goals.
   6. (vi) Successful trial leaves.
   7. (vii) The establishment of a support system.
   8. (viii) A plan for continuity of care.
