A distance education course is acceptable to meet the classroom hour requirement if the course is approved by the Board, complies with § 36.223 (relating to providers of appraisal/assessment courses) and meets the following conditions:

1. (1) The course is presented in one of the following ways:

   1. (i) Synchronous distance education.
   2. (ii) Asynchronous distance education that complies with § 36.45 (relating to asynchronous distance education).
   3. (iii) Hybrid distance education that meets the class hour requirements of each of the course’s component parts, whether in-person, synchronous or asynchronous.
2. (2) The applicant must successfully complete a written, closed-book final examination proctored in person or remotely by an official approved by the college, university or other course provider. Biometric proctoring is acceptable.
3. (3) The content and length of the course meet the requirements of § 36.222 (relating to required courses of study).
