4 Pa. Code § 1.362 – Program objectives.

(a) The objectives of the Pennsylvania Coastal Zone Management Program are to:
1. (1) Identify and evaluate those coastal resources requiring management or protection by the State.
2. (2) Reexamine existing policies or develop new policies to manage these resources.
3. (3) Determine specific uses and special geographic areas that are to be subject to the management program.
4. (4) Identify the inland and seaward areas subject to the management program.
5. (5) Provide for consideration of the national interest in the planning for and siting of facilities that will meet more than local requirements.
6. (6) Include sufficient legal authorities and organizational arrangements to implement the program and to insure conformance to it.
(b) The program will involve affected State agencies in order to assure that existing authorities are used to implement the policies and management techniques identified as necessary for coastal management purposes.
