1. (1) Notwithstanding 918-098-1215, to qualify to take a board approved exam to become a residential electrical inspector, a person must meet one of the following training or experience requirements:

   1. (a) Be an Oregon general journeyman electrician;
   2. (b) Have two years experience as an Oregon limited residential journeyman electrician;
   3. (c) A certificate of completion from an apprenticeship program meeting the equivalency requirements of OAR 918-282-0170, plus two years experience as a licensed journeyman electrician;
   4. (d) Be a licensed journeyman electrician and have four years experience as a licensed journeyman electrician;
   5. (e) Have six years experience as a certified residential or commercial electrical inspector possessing a nationally recognized certification or its equivalent; or
   6. (f) Successfully complete the division’s board approved residential electrical inspector practicum.

2. (2) Residential electrical inspectors may conduct inspections for electrical work regulated by the Oregon Residential Specialty Code; and

   1. (a) Electrical work on manufactured dwellings, manufactured structure accessory buildings and structures under the Oregon Manufactured Dwelling Installation Specialty Code;
   2. (b) The provisions of OAR chapter 918, division 500;
   3. (c) The Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards located in 24 CFR 3280 and 3282; and
   4. (d) Any portion of a solar PV installation up to 25 Kw.
3. (3) Application for Certification: A person seeking certification under this rule must apply for an Oregon Code Certification as provided in OAR 918-098-1025.
4. (4) To receive a certification under this rule, the person must successfully pass the board approved examination with a minimum grade of 75 percent.
