To establish standards for nursing education programs that ensure graduates are prepared for safe nursing practice. To include the following:

1. (1) Processes for the approval of new nursing education programs;
2. (2) Accreditation requirements of nursing education programs;
3. (3) Criteria for ongoing evaluation of established nursing education programs;
4. (4) Standards for the operation of nursing education programs; and
5. (5) Processes for denial or withdrawal of approval of nursing education programs that do not maintain compliance with Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) Chapter 851 Division 21.
