Notification of hazardous materials incidents is mandatory under several state and federal statutes, not all of which are consistent as to their definitions of reportable materials:

1. (1) To ensure timely responses and recovery of costs, and comprehensive statistics, all hazardous materials incidents shall be promptly reported as required by OAR 837-090-1000.
2. (2) A Hazardous Material Emergency Incident Report shall be completed and submitted for each incident.
