1. (1) All electrical tools and implements, with the exception of clipper blades, must be disinfected before each use. To disinfect electrical tools and implements:

   1. (a) Remove all hair and all foreign material;
   2. (b) Disinfect with a low-level disinfectant used according to the manufacturer's instructions.

2. (2) Electrical clipper blades must be disinfected before each use. The method is as follows:

   1. (a) Remove all hair and all foreign material;
   2. (b) Completely saturate clipper blade with a high-level disinfectant solution, spray, or foam used according to the manufacturer's instructions.
3. (3) Electrical clipper blades may be sterilized, using one of the approved methods listed in OAR 817-010-0065(5)(b) or (c).
