A pickup truck may tow a single truck trailer that exceeds 40 feet in length, but does not exceed 53 feet in length if:
- (1) The pickup truck is not carrying a load other than the towed vehicle;
- (2) The coupling device for the trailer is a ball to socket hitch located above and not behind the tire tread of the rearmost axle of the pickup truck;
- (3) The trailer has operating brakes on all wheels; and
- (4) The load on the truck-trailer shall not extend past the rear of the trailer by more than five feet.
