- (1) The Committee shall approve design(s) for markers. A person may not erect a marker within the Conventional Highway right-of-way, at Interstate rest areas, or at another publicly accessible location in the state format without the approval of the Committee.
- (2) Markers may be erected to commemorate person(s), events, places, or geological features that are judged of statewide or national significance as stated in the Oregon Historical Markers Program guidelines.
- (3) Markers designated through the Oregon Historical Marker Program become the property of the Council.
