- (1) Marker panels must be located so as to take advantage of natural terrain, to have the least impact on the scenic environment, and to avoid visual conflict with other signs within the Conventional Highway right-of-way, at Interstate rest areas, and at other publicly accessible locations.
- (2) Marker panels must be located as close as safely possible to the historic or geologic occurrence within the Conventional Highway right-of-way, at Interstate rest areas, or at other publicly accessible locations.
- (3) The proposed location within the Conventional Highway right-of-way must be reviewed and approved by ODOT for safety. Proposed locations at other publicly accessible sites must be approved by the authorities of the local jurisdiction, the landowner, or via interagency agreement or MOU.
