1. (1) These rules establish a special permit system for the orderly development and conduct of an experimental program for the rearing of Columbia River white sturgeon in fish propagation facilities and to provide for the collection of oversize female sturgeon for egg taking. The total amount of oversize female sturgeon that may be collected by all persons issued permits under these rules shall not exceed 18 per calendar year as further provided in OAR 635-007-0710(2)(a).
2. (2) For purposes of OAR 635-007-0700 through 635-007-0720 “oversize sturgeon” means: Columbia River female white sturgeon over six feet in length.
