The following definitions apply to OAR 581-017-0601 to 581-017-0616:
- (1) “Agriculture Science and Technology Program of Study” means a comprehensive program that connects the related career strands that are part of the vibrant nature of Oregon’s agriculture industry. The career strands include agribusiness, animal science, plant science/horticulture, and agriculture mechanics.
- (2) “FFA” means Future Farmers of America.
- (3) “Historically Underserved Student” means English language learners, Black and African American, American Indian and Alaskan Native, Latino and Hispanic, Asian and Pacific Islander, Multi-racial, students experiencing poverty, and students with disabilities.
- (4) “Oregon Agriculture Teachers Association” is the association of licensed Agriculture Science and Technology teachers within the State of Oregon.
- (5) “Oregon FFA Association” means the career technical student organization that is chartered by the Oregon Department of Education and is an affiliate of the National FFA Organization.
- (6) “Oregon Team AgEd" is a collaborative partnership of related entities or organizations that have a vested interest in the Agricultural Education Model. Oregon Team AgEd provides guidance and recommendations to support the Oregon Agricultural Education model.
- (7) “Program of Study” means a sequence of courses, aligned to industry standards at the secondary and post-secondary level, which integrates technical and career skill proficiencies with academic content and has been approved by the Oregon Department of Education.
