1. (1) The Department of Education will award grants to support the creation of the CTE Teacher Preparation Program to the following eligible recipients:

   1. (a) Teacher Standards and Practices Commission approved teacher education institutions for the purpose of developing and maintaining coursework for that fulfills licensure requirements established by the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practice Commission for career and technical education teachers; and
   2. (b) Teacher Standards and Practices Commission approved teacher education institutions, community Colleges, education service districts, school districts, public schools, and charter schools, for the purpose of providing professional development for both pre-service and in-service career and technical education teachers.
2. (2) Eligible recipients may use funds received through the CTE Teacher Preparation Program to contract with private businesses and nonprofits for the purpose of providing experiential learning opportunities for teachers.
