1. (1) The Oregon School for the Deaf (OSD) instructional program shall instruct all students in grades K/1–8 in the areas of art, health education, language arts (including reading and writing), mathematics, physical education, science, and social science (including geography and history). The program shall:

   1. (a) Provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for successful progress in high schools;
   2. (b) Provide opportunities for high school students to meet requirements for graduation; and
   3. (c) Offer electives at the high school level in vocational education, art, and a foreign language.

2. (2) In addition to the academic program, OSC shall provide instruction in theses areas:

   1. (a) Compensatory skills such as:

      1. (A) Typing/Keyboarding;
      2. (B) Signing and fingerspelling;
      3. (C) Leadership;
      4. (D) Handwriting; and
      5. (E) Use of auditory, visual, and physical aids.
   2. (b) Self-help and skills of daily living;
   3. (c) Arts, crafts, and hobbies;
   4. (d) Orientation and mobility (for deaf/blind);
   5. (e) Adaptive physical education;
   6. (f) Career, prevocational, and technical skills;
   7. (g) Language/Communication development;

   8. (h) Related services:

      1. (A) Speech pathology and audiology;
      2. (B) Psychological services;
      3. (C) Physical therapy;
      4. (D) Occupational therapy; and
      5. (E) Medical diagnostic services and health care.
