1. (1) Personal belongings are items needed for maintenance and occupancy of the home and personal items found in or near the home that are used on a regular basis, are ordinarily worn or carried by the individual, or otherwise have an intimate relation to the individual. The value of personal belongings is excluded.
2. (2) Items that otherwise meet the definition of personal belongings but were acquired or are held for their value or as an investment are not personal belongings. The value of such items is counted.
