1. (1) If more than one treatment type is used, the highest rated treatment type classification applies.

2. (2) Wastewater treatment systems may be classified differently than indicated in Table A if:

   1. (a) They have characteristics that make operation more or less complex or difficult than other similar wastewater treatment systems with the same flow range.
   2. (b) The conditions of flow or the use of the receiving waters require a higher degree of wastewater treatment system operational control than a system with similar treatment type(s).

   3. (c) They use an approved method of wastewater treatment that is not included in Table A.
