1. (1) Whole fungi.

   1. (a) Whole fungi may only be sampled after it is dried, regardless of whether the whole fungi will be processed into another product type.
   2. (b) Sufficient sample increments must be taken to perform required tests and samples must be taken in a manner consistent with the laboratory’s sampling policies and procedures.

2. (2) Other product types.

   1. (a) Samples of psilocybin extracts, homogenized fungi, and edible psilocybin products intended for use by a client must be taken from the finished product.
   2. (b) Sufficient sample increments from a batch must be taken to determine whether the batch is homogenous and must be taken in a manner consistent with the laboratory’s sampling policies and procedures.
   3. (c) A sufficient sample size must be taken for analysis of all requested tests and the quality control performed by the testing laboratory for these tests.
3. (3) Only individuals employed by a laboratory with an Oregon Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ORELAP) accredited scope item for sampling under these rules may take samples.
4. (4) Sampling may be conducted at a manufacturer’s licensed premises, or the manufacturer may transport the batch to a laboratory with an ORELAP accredited scope item for sampling under these rules.
5. (5) After entering test results into the product tracking system (PTS) of all compliance testing that was completed as required by OAR 333-333-7030, OAR 333-333-7040, OAR 333-333-7050, OAR 333-333-7060, OAR 333-333-7070, OAR 333-333-7080, a laboratory licensee must retain the remaining sample material for a minimum of 30 additional calendar days.
