1. (1) An alternative procedure may be approved on a temporary basis for a designated time period, if in the judgment of the environmental health specialist the procedure provides interim health and safety protection equal to that provided by the rule. The environmental health specialist may extend the designated time period if justified by unforeseen circumstances. Such an alternative procedure shall not authorize or condone any priority item or priority foundation item violation.
2. (2) All alternative procedures that have been approved shall be implemented immediately.
