1. (l) Authority: The authority for this rule is granted to the Director of the Department of Corrections in accordance with ORS 179.040, 179.473, 179.478, 179.479, 179.495, 179.505, 423.020, 423.030, 423.075 and 2005 Or Laws, Ch 439.
2. (2) Purpose: This rule prescribes procedures by which inmates of Department of Corrections facilities may be transferred to a state mental hospital listed in ORS 426.010.
3. (3) Policy: It is the policy of the Department of Corrections to establish procedures to provide for the best possible evaluation, treatment and return or release to inmates, to and from a state mental hospital in accordance with ORS 179.473, 179.478, 179.479 and 2005 Oregon Laws, Ch 439.
