(1) A person that seeks to supervise and oversee the conduct of amateur unarmed combat sports as an AAO must first obtain official approval from the superintendent. To obtain approval the applicant must submit information pertaining to:
- (a) The organization;
- (b) Principal owner;
- (c) Substantial owners;
- (d) Key persons.
(2) The following information is required for each person above:
- (a) Completed AAO application on a form supplied by the superintendent;
- (b) Verification of non-profit 501(c)3 status;
- (c) Clear photocopies or electronic images of current government issued identification cards that contain a photograph to affirm identity and minimum age (21);
- (d) One (1) digital photograph (head and shoulders only, without a hat and in a natural pose);
- (e) Required application fee under this rule;
- (f) Information necessary to conduct a criminal history background check;
- (g) Additional information requested by the Administrator as needed to determine the applicant’s suitability to act as an AAO;
- (h) Complete disclosure of criminal history and pending cases.
(3) The following are prohibited from obtaining approval as an AAO:
- (a) An unarmed combat sports promoter licensed in any state, country or tribal nation;
- (b) An employee or agent of an unarmed combat sports promoter licensed in a state, country or tribal nation.
- (4) Falsification, omission or misrepresentation of a material fact in any portion of an application for approval shall result in the application being denied, and if the application has been previously granted, the approval may be temporarily suspended by the superintendent or the Administrator.
- (5) Approved Amateur Athletic Organization’s will be reviewed on an annual basis for compliance, or more frequently if required.
