- (1) Unarmed combat sports competitors competing in Oregon must be licensed by the Oregon State Athletic Commission.
(2) Anyone who applies for an unarmed combat sports competitor’s license must provide:
- (a) Evidence of recent or previous significant experience in an unarmed combat sport;
- (b) Show proof of proper training and demonstrate physical competence, which may include but is not limited to: competence in the elements of offense, defense, clean hitting, and physical ability to compete;
- (c) An unarmed combat sports competitor without prior experience may be required to demonstrate competency at a sparring session and be evaluated at that time by the Administrator or an authorized representative of the superintendent.
- (d) Unless otherwise approved by the Administrator, a professional unarmed combat sports license shall not be issued to an unarmed combat sports competitor that has competed in less than three (3) amateur unarmed combat sports contests.
