Any court having jurisdiction to place delinquent children may place such a child in an institution of or in another state pursuant to Article VI of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children and shall retain jurisdiction as provided in Article V thereof.

Laws 2008, SB 906, c. 156, § 1 enacts the new Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children as 10 O.S. § 577. Section 2 of the act repeals 10 O.S. §§ 571, 572, 573, 574, 575, and 576. Section 3 provides that the enactment shall become effective upon the enactment by thrity-five states, as defined by Article II of the Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children or July 1, 2008, whichever is later.
