1. (a) Direct supervision is defined as directions given to a Veterinary Technician, nurse, laboratory technician, intern, assistant, or other employee for medical care following the examination of an animal by the veterinarian responsible for professional care of the animal.
2. (b) Under conditions of an emergency a Veterinary Technician may render life saving aid to an animal in accordance with applicable provisions of the Veterinary Practice Act and Board rules. "Emergency" means the animal is in a life threatening condition where immediate treatment is necessary to sustain life.
