Except under unusual circumstances, supplemental signing should not be considered for the generators shown in Table 1 of the AASHTO Guidelines for Supplemental Guide Signs. Signs for these generators shall only be considered after a traffic engineering study and shall not be erected without written concurrence from the State Traffic Engineer.
