Credit points shall be allowed in the following instances:
- (1) Two points shall be credited to a person's driving record upon successful completion of an approved Driver Improvement/Defensive Driving Course. Credit points shall be given once every twenty-four (24) months for completing an approved course, provided only one full course shall be acknowledged once every twenty-four (24) months.
- (2) Two points shall be credited to a person's driving record when the person has gone twelve (12) consecutive months without being convicted of any pointable violation that appears in OAC 670:15-15-2.
- (3) Upon the reinstatement of a person's privilege to drive after a suspension which was based on violations listed in OAC 670:15-15-2, the points level shall be reduced to five (5) points or less as provided in these regulations.
- (4) In addition to (1) (2) and (3) of this subsection, the point level shall be reduced to zero if a person is not convicted of any pointable traffic violation that is listed in this Subchapter of these regulations for three (3) consecutive years.
- (5) The point level cannot be reduced below zero.
