No benefits shall be paid under this subchapter:

1. (1) if the death was caused by the intentional misconduct of the employee or if the employee intended to bring about his or her death;
2. (2) if the death is an accidental death as a result of travel to and from work;
3. (3) if the employee was intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of .10 or greater at the time of death or injury;
4. (4) if the employee was under the influence of illegal drugs or improperly used prescription drugs at the time of death or injury; or
5. (5) if death is the natural death of the employee or death is the primary result of a disease or medical condition.
