The following are the permitted uses of reclaimed water by category:

1. (1) Category 1. Reserved

2. (2) Category 2. Category 2 reclaimed water shall only be used for the permitted uses in Categories 3, 4 and 5, and:

   1. (A) drip irrigation on orchards or vineyards;
   2. (B) spray or drip irrigation on sod farms, public access landscapes and public use areas/sports complexes, including unrestricted access golf courses;
   3. (C) toilet and urinal flushing;
   4. (D) fire protection systems;
   5. (E) commercial closed-loop air conditioning systems;
   6. (F) vehicle and equipment washing (excluding self-service car washes);
   7. (G) range cattle watering; and
   8. (H) make-up water for oil and gas production.

3. (3) Category 3. Category 3 reclaimed water shall only be used for the permitted uses in Categories 4 and 5, and:

   1. (A) subsurface irrigation of orchards or vineyards;
   2. (B) restricted access landscape irrigation;
   3. (C) irrigation of livestock pasture;
   4. (D) concrete mixing;
   5. (E) dust control;
   6. (F) aggregate washing/sieving;
   7. (G) new restricted access golf course irrigation systems;
   8. (H) industrial cooling towers,once-through cooling systems, and closed loop systems such as boiler feed water;
   9. (I) restricted access irrigation of sod farms.; and
   10. (J) hydraulic fracturing.

4. (4) Category 4. Category 4 reclaimed water shall only be used for the permitted uses in Category 5 and:

   1. (A) soil compaction and similar construction activities; and
   2. (B) existing restricted golf course irrigation systems utilizing water that has received primary treatment in lagoon systems. Permits to construct shall not be issued for new Category 4 restricted access golf course irrigation systems pending further research and evaluation of performance data collected from existing systems.

5. (5) Category 5. Category 5 reclaimed water shall only be used for:

   1. (A) restricted access pasture irrigation for range cattle;
   2. (B) restricted access irrigation of fiber, seed, forage and similar crops; and
   3. (C) irrigation of silviculture.

6. (6) Category 6. Category 6 reclaimed water, which does not require a permit to supply, shall only be used within the wastewater treatment plant and includes:

   1. (A) dilution water for chemicals used in the process such as polymers,coagulants, chlorination or dechlorination;
   2. (B) mechanical seal water for gas compressors, pumps and other equipment;
   3. (C) mechanical seal water and cooling water for pumps;
   4. (D) odor and gas absorption including bio-filters used for odor control;
   5. (E) centrifuge flushing;
   6. (F) flushing grit and sludge pipes;
   7. (G) gravity thickener make-up water;
   8. (H) supply water for filter backwash;
   9. (I) headworks screen washing;
   10. (J) headworks screening washer-compactors;
   11. (K) belt filter press;
   12. (L) other reclaimed water that is permanently plumbed to a fixed nozzle and contained within unit operations;
   13. (M) yard hydrants; and
   14. (N) hose bibs.
