1. (a) Explosive gas levels exceeded. During routine explosive gas monitoring, if gas levels exceed the limits specified in OAC 252:515-15-2, the owner/operator shall:

   1. (1) immediately take all necessary steps to ensure protection of human health and notify the DEQ;
   2. (2) within seven days of detection, submit to the DEQ in writing, the methane gas levels detected and a description of the steps taken to protect human health;
   3. (3) within 30 days of detection, submit a remediation plan to the DEQ for approval, describing the nature and extent of the problem and the proposed remedy; and

   4. (4) within 60 days of detection, implement the remediation plan.

      1. (A) The plan may be modified to meet current conditions, with the written approval of the DEQ.
      2. (B) The DEQ shall be notified in writing when the remediation plan has been implemented and a copy placed in the operating record.
2. (b) Alternative schedule. The DEQ may establish alternative schedules for demonstrating compliance with this Section.
