1. (a) The State Department of Education shall select public schools based on the following criteria:

   1. (1) Schools shall be selected based on a competitive grant process.
   2. (2) There shall be representation from urban, suburban, and rural districts provided that such schools complete the grant application.
   3. (3) There shall be representation from each quadrant of the state provided that such schools complete the grant application.

2. (b) Each selected school shall:

   1. (1) Establish teams of students who will design and build a remote-controlled robot.
   2. (2) Utilize funds for registration fees and related expenses for remote-controlled robot competitions.
   3. (3) Utilize teachers and volunteers to provide assistance to the student teams.
   4. (4) Participate in Oklahoma regional and national robotics competitions.
   5. (5) Provide an end-of-project report on project implementation and utilization of funds to the State Department of Education.
