1. (A) Any person authorized to enforce this chapter shall investigate any complaint that indicates a possible violation of any provision of this chapter involving a dog.

2. (B) If, after investigating an alleged violation of this chapter under division (A) of this section, an authorized person does not cite a person for or charge a person with a violation, the authorized person shall notify, in accordance with division (C) of this section, the owner, keeper, or harborer of the dog that there has been a complaint regarding the dog and that the authorized person investigated a possible violation. The notice shall specify both of the following:

   1. (1) A citation to the applicable provision or provisions of law at issue;
   2. (2) Contact information for the authorized person.
3. (C) The authorized person shall post the notice on the door of the dwelling at which the dog resides within twenty-four hours after the authorized person concludes the investigation.
