Firearms instructor certification shall be valid from the date of issuance and shall remain valid during the holder’s continuous service as a police officer, peace officer, or Federal law enforcement officer, or while the holder is employed by a sponsoring police officer or peace officer agency, unless revoked by the commissioner.
