(2) Persons who are authorized to hunt wildlife without a license (under section 11-0707[1][a] and [5] of the Environmental Conservation Law) must possess a turkey permit.
(b) Special permits.
(3) The turkey permit is valid for both the fall and subsequent spring seasons.
(c) Season dates and boundaries.
(1) Fall. A permittee may hunt wild turkey only during those open seasons and in those wildlife management units (as described in section 4.1 of this Title) listed below.

(2) Spring. A permittee may hunt wild turkey only during those open seasons and in those wildlife management units (as described in section 4.1 of this Title) listed below.

(3) Spring youth hunt.
(i) Season. There shall be a spring youth hunt for wild turkey. Eligible participants shall be those persons 12 through 15 years old holding a turkey permit and junior hunting license, or persons 12 through 15 years old holding a turkey permit but not required to have a hunting license pursuant to section 11-0707 of the Environmental Conservation Law. The youth hunt shall be open in Suffolk County (Wildlife Management Unit 1C) and all areas of the State in which a spring turkey hunting season is held pursuant to paragraph (2) of this subdivision, and the dates of the youth hunt shall be as follows:
(iii) Bag limit. A youth hunter may take one bearded turkey during the youth hunt. A turkey taken during the youth hunt shall be counted as part of the youth hunter's regular spring season bag limit.
(d) Bag limits.

(e) Shooting hours.

(f) Manner of taking.
(8) A permittee may not hunt turkey with the aid of a live turkey as a decoy.
(g) Tagging and possession.
(4) A permittee may consign the turkey carcass to another person. The permittee must write his/her own name, address, hunting license number and turkey permit number, and the name and address of the consignee on a tag. This tag must be securely attached to the carcass or a portion of the carcass. The tag must remain attached until the carcass is prepared for consumption.
