1. (a) consider and investigate all matters involving allegations of professional misconduct by any person or firm covered by section 1240.1 of this Title;
2. (b) supervise staff attorneys in the performance of their duties before the committee;
3. (c) appoint sub-committees to assist in investigations when necessary and appropriate;
4. (d) authorize the chief attorney to commence a proceeding in the Appellate Division when the public interest requires prompt action or when such proceeding is otherwise permitted under law or the rules of the court; and
5. (e) maintain and provide to the Appellate Division statistical reports, in a form approved by the court, summarizing the processing and disposition of all matters before the committee.
