(a) The elevator machinery and sheaves shall have an ample factor of safety for the rated elevator capacity and shall be installed in a substantial manner.

(b) Guarding.

Machines and parts of machines shall be guarded in accordance with Industrial Code rules 875 to 920¹ inclusive, relating to guarding of dangerous machinery.
