Go-kart track barriers.

  1. (a) minimize impact;
  2. (b) absorb shock;
  3. (c) keep go-karts on the go-kart track;
  4. (d) prevent go-karts from running over, under the barrier;
  5. (e) tire containment systems, if used without a trackside interface, shall:

    1. (1) consist of tires which are securely fastened to each other; and
    2. (2) anchored to prevent relocation upon impact; Note:

      Note:

      Tires in containment systems shall have rims removed. Tires with rims shall be allowed in the pit area.

  6. (f) bridges shall have a barrier system behind the rail system and on either side of approach and egress of bridge, adequate to retain a go-kart on the go-kart track or perimeter surface without allowing the go-kart to rollover.

If sufficient space is not available between the edge of the go-kart track and other obstacles or hazards, then a barrier shall be provided. The barrier shall be designed and installed to:
