(2) Damaged or worn mats shall not be used.
(b) Slide structure.
(3) Each slide shall have sides of sufficient height so as to prevent riders in adjacent slides from physically contacting one another. Also, the sides shall be sufficiently banked on turns so as to prevent a rider from accidentally leaving the slide. Exception:

Paragraph (3) of this subdivision shall not apply to multi-parallel lane slides. However, the design and/or operation of these types of slides shall incorporate provisions to control the likelihood of patrons leaving their intended lane of travel while sliding.
(c) Pools.
Pools into which the riders exit a water slide shall conform to the following:
(4) Water. Water shall meet the requirements of Part 6, “Swimming Pools and Bathing Beaches,” section 6-1.19, of the New York State Sanitary Code for condition of water in slides and pools, Title 10, NYCRR Part 6, effective March 30, 1988.
(d) Starting zone.
At the start of the slide there shall be a zone, at least 30 feet in length. The lower end of this zone shall be marked with a distinctive line or electronic sensor. Only one rider or ride vehicle shall be permitted in this zone at any time.
(e) Personnel.
(1) Slide supervisor. The slide supervisor shall have the following duties:
(3) Slide attendants.
(ii) End of slide. At the end of the slide structure, there shall be at least one attendant who shall possess a “CPR for the Professional Rescuer” certificate from the American Red Cross in the event cardiopulmonary resuscitation becomes necessary. An additional attendant shall be assigned if more than four slides enter a pool. These attendants shall also assist riders in leaving the pool area as the need arises. The commissioner reserves the right to require additional attendants, regardless of the number of slides entering the pool, under the following conditions:
(4) One person may be designated to perform multiple duties as required hereunder.
(f) Signs.
The following signs shall be displayed in the areas indicated:
