“Athlete” means a natural person who:

1. 1. Participates in an athletic activity conducted by:

   1. (a) An intercollegiate athletic association or interscholastic athletic association;
   2. (b) A professional athletic organization; or
   3. (c) An amateur athletic organization; or

2. 2. Participates in a recreational sport activity that:

   1. (a) Has officially designated coaches;
   2. (b) Conducts regularly scheduled practices or workouts that are supervised by coaches; and
   3. (c) Has established schedules for competitive events or exhibitions.
