1. 1. Upon application and payment of the application fee required pursuant to NRS 637B.175, the Board may issue a provisional license to engage in the practice of:

   1. (a) Speech-language pathology to a person who is completing the clinical fellowship requirements for obtaining a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

   2. (b) Fitting and dispensing hearing aids to a person who:

      1. (1) Holds a license to engage in the practice of fitting and dispensing hearing aids in the District of Columbia or any state or territory of the United States; and
      2. (2) Meets the requirements of paragraph (a), (b) or (c) of subsection 1 of NRS 637B.193 but has not yet completed the on-site training and work experience required by the regulations adopted pursuant to NRS 637B.194.

2. 2. A provisional license issued pursuant to this section may be:

   1. (a) Renewed not more than twice; and

   2. (b) Converted to a standard license upon payment of the fee required pursuant to NRS 637B.175 for converting the license and the submission to the Board of proof that the holder of the provisional license:

      1. (1) Holds a current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, if the provisional license authorizes the holder to engage in the practice of speech-language pathology.
      2. (2) Has successfully completed the on-site training and work experience required by the regulations adopted pursuant to NRS 637B.194, if the provisional license authorizes the holder to engage in the practice of fitting and dispensing hearing aids.
