To be eligible for licensing by the Board as a genetic counselor, an applicant must:

1. 1. Be a natural person of good moral character;
2. 2. Submit a completed application as required by the Board by the date established by the Board;
3. 3. Submit the fee prescribed by the Board pursuant to NRS 630.268;

4. 4. Have received a master’s degree or higher in genetic counseling from a program in genetic counseling that is:

   1. (a) Accredited by the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling, or its successor organization; or
   2. (b) Located in a foreign country and has educational standards that are at least as stringent as those established by the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling, or its successor organization, as determined by the Board;
5. 5. Pass the examination administered by the American Board of Genetic Counseling, or its successor organization, or the examination in clinical genetics and genomics administered by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics, or its successor organization; and
6. 6. Hold a valid certification issued by the American Board of Genetic Counseling, or its successor organization.
