1. 1. Brands for cattle shall be recorded for use in only two of the following positions:

   1. (a) The hip on the right-hand side;
   2. (b) The hip on the left-hand side;
   3. (c) The shoulder on the right-hand side;
   4. (d) The shoulder on the left-hand side;
   5. (e) The rib cage on the right-hand side; or
   6. (f) The rib cage on the left-hand side.
2. 2. Nothing in this section shall be construed to preclude the use of date brands.
