1. 1. A vacancy in the office of supervisor of a district must be filled for the unexpired term as soon as practicable after the office becomes vacant, by appointment by the remaining supervisors of the district.
2. 2. The chair of the governing body of a district shall certify all such appointments immediately to the Commission and to the Program.
