As used in this chapter, “midwife” means:

1. 1. A person certified as:

   1. (a) A Certified Professional Midwife by the North American Registry of Midwives, or its successor organization; or
   2. (b) A Certified Nurse-Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board, or its successor organization; or
2. 2. Any other type of midwife.
