1. 1. The Executive Director of the State Public Charter School Authority:

   1. (a) Must be appointed by the Governor from a list of three candidates submitted by the State Public Charter School Authority and serves at the pleasure of the Governor.
   2. (b) Is in the unclassified service of the State.

2. 2. To be eligible for appointment to the office of Executive Director of the State Public Charter School Authority, a person must:

   1. (a) Be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment; and
   2. (b) Possess a demonstrated understanding of charter schools and a commitment to using charter schools to strengthen public education in this State.
