NRS 385.930. Preparation of plan; annual submission of plan [Effective July 1, 2026.]

1. 1. The Department shall prepare a plan to improve the achievement of pupils enrolled in the public schools in this State. The plan:

   1. (a) Must be prepared in consultation with:

      1. (1) Employees of the Department and members of the State Board;
      2. (2) At least one employee of a school district in a county whose population is 100,000 or more, appointed by the Nevada Association of School Boards;
      3. (3) At least one employee of a school district in a county whose population is less than 100,000, appointed by the Nevada Association of School Boards; and
      4. (4) At least one representative of the Statewide Council for the Coordination of the Regional Training Programs created by NRS 391A.130, appointed by the Council; and

   2. (b) May be prepared in consultation with:

      1. (1) Representatives of institutions of higher education;
      2. (2) Representatives of regional educational laboratories;
      3. (3) Representatives of outside consultant groups; and
      4. (4) Representatives of the regional training programs for the professional development of teachers and administrators created by NRS 391A.120.

2. 2. On or before March 31 of each year, the Department shall submit the plan or the revised plan, as applicable, to the:

   1. (a) Governor;
   2. (b) Joint Interim Standing Committee on Education;
   3. (c) State Board;
   4. (d) Board of Regents of the University of Nevada;
   5. (e) Board of trustees of each school district; and
   6. (f) Governing body of each charter school.
