1. 1. The city clerk shall appoint for each polling place for early voting a deputy clerk for early voting who must serve as the election officer in charge of the polling place.
2. 2. The city clerk may also appoint as many additional deputy clerks as he or she deems necessary for the proper conduct of the election.
