Subject to the discretion and approval of the court, a guardian must be allowed:

1. 1. If the guardian is a private professional guardian of the estate, reasonable compensation for the guardian’s services; and

2. 2. Reimbursement for:

   1. (a) Expenses incurred in exercising the authority and performing the duties of a guardian; and
   2. (b) Other actual costs of preserving and growing the estate if the expenses are necessary to meet an extraordinary need of the protected minor.
