NRS 159A.0615. Appointment of judicial officer or special judicial officer to identify person most qualified and suitable to serve as guardian; hearing; recommendation [Effective July 1, 2026.]
- 1. If the court determines that a minor may be in need of a guardian, the court may order the appointment of a judicial officer or a special judicial officer from among the members of the State Bar of Nevada to conduct a hearing to identify the person most qualified and suitable to serve as guardian for the proposed protected minor.
- 2. Not later than 5 calendar days after the date of the hearing, the judicial officer or special judicial officer shall prepare and submit to the court a recommendation regarding which person is most qualified and suitable to serve as guardian for the proposed protected minor.
- 3. A court may designate, by rule or order, a different title to a person appointed as a judicial officer or special judicial officer so long as the title does not include the term “master.”
