1. 1. “Private professional guardian” means a person who receives compensation for services as a guardian to three or more protected persons who are not related to the guardian by blood or marriage and who meets the requirements set forth in NRS 159A.0595.

2. 2. For the purposes of this chapter, the term includes an entity that serves as a private professional guardian and is:

   1. (a) Required to have a license issued pursuant to chapter 628B of NRS; or
   2. (b) Exempt pursuant to NRS 159.0595, 159A.0595 or 628B.110 from the requirement to have a license issued pursuant to chapter 628B of NRS.

3. 3. The term does not include:

   1. (a) A governmental agency.
   2. (b) A public guardian appointed or designated pursuant to the provisions of chapter 253 of NRS.
